San Jose Art Museum

I love visiting the Art Museum in downtown San Jose.  Sometimes they have pieces that take my breath away they are so beautiful.  Sometimes they make me think in a new way.  Sometimes I just don't get it.  This last time I didn't understand most of it.

But these pieces that hang in the front entry are always a favorite.  I could stare at these for hours.

And it was still fun sharing one of my favorite places with one of my best friends, even if I didn't appreciate most of the art.

Paper On Canvas

I am inspired by Britt Bass.  I saw a piece of hers recently that has had me experimenting with paper for months to figure out how she does it.  The way she can manipulate paper makes me feel like I've been swept in a breeze of petals, being tossed in the wind.  I love her work and wish that I could capture the movement the way she could, but I think it's pretty good for a first try.

Blue Dancers

I'm inspired by Edgar Degas, Blue Dancers.  I love this piece and couldn't help, but try my hand at it today while I was listening to my Kindle read to me from Walden's Nature for one of my classes.  Sometimes it's nice to take a break from all the science and doodle.
